La Ville d’Ablon-sur-Seine entreprend la requalification du site de sa mairie afin d’améliorer l’accessibilité des services municipaux et de reconstruire le centre technique municipal (CTM). La mairie, ancienne maison bourgeoise en pierre meulière avec toiture mansardée, bénéficie d’un cadre verdoyant au cœur du parc Dreher, bien que sa visibilité depuis la rue soit limitée par la végétation. Le CTM, installé sur la parcelle voisine, se compose de bâtiments dégradés qui nuisent à l’intégration urbaine.
Le projet vise à valoriser le patrimoine protégé de la mairie tout en mettant en scène le paysage du parc. La démolition des bâtiments obsolètes du CTM et du dojo libère 1 500 m², permettant l’implantation d’un seul bâtiment compact de 500 m² en fond de parcelle, adossé à la façade Est de la mairie. Cette disposition offre un extérieur généreux, traité comme un espace paysager accessible depuis la rue. Les murs du parc sont adaptés pour articuler visibilité et intimité, tandis qu’un parvis minéral et planté crée une continuité entre le parking et l’extension.
L’extension, organisée de manière linéaire, prend la forme d’une grande « halle » à toit-terrasse en structure poteau-poutre béton. Elle abrite un hall d’accueil entre l’existant et la nouvelle construction, des bureaux municipaux, des espaces partagés pour le personnel et le CTM, ainsi que les ateliers et garages techniques en bout de bâtiment. Sa volumétrie, ponctuée d’un auvent et d’une pente douce, dialogue avec la maison existante et s’ouvre largement sur le Nord et le Sud, créant transparence et continuité entre le public et les activités qu’elle accueille.

The City of Ablon-sur-Seine is undertaking the redevelopment of its town hall site to improve accessibility to municipal services and to rebuild the municipal technical center (CTM). The town hall, a former bourgeois house built in meulière stone with a mansard roof, benefits from a lush setting at the heart of Dreher Park, although its visibility from the street is limited by the surrounding vegetation. The CTM, located on the neighboring plot, consists of deteriorated buildings that disrupt the urban integration of the site.
The project aims to enhance the protected heritage of the town hall while showcasing the park landscape. The demolition of the outdated CTM and dojo buildings frees up 1,500 m², allowing the construction of a single compact 500 m² building at the rear of the plot, aligned with the east façade of the town hall. This arrangement provides a generous outdoor space, designed as a landscaped area accessible from the street. The park walls are adapted to balance visibility and privacy, while a planted and paved forecourt creates continuity between the parking area and the new extension.
The extension, organized in a linear layout, takes the form of a large terrace-roofed “hall” with a concrete frame structure. It houses a reception hall linking the existing building with the new construction, municipal offices, shared spaces for staff and the CTM, as well as workshops and technical garages at the end of the building. Its volumetry, punctuated by a canopy and a gentle slope, dialogues with the existing house and opens widely to the north and south, creating transparency and continuity between the public realm and the activities within.
