Le projet consiste en la construction d’une salle multisports à Ablis, destinée à enrichir l’offre d’équipements couverts pour les habitants. Implantée sur un terrain de 3 500 m² à l’entrée sud de la ville, entre zones pavillonnaires et paysages agricoles, la nouvelle salle s’inscrit dans un site déjà dédié aux activités sportives.
Les vestiaires existants, vétustes et non conformes aux normes, sont démolis afin de libérer l’emprise nécessaire. Un nouveau noyau de services – comprenant vestiaires et espaces partagés – est implanté à l’emplacement des anciens, dans le prolongement du gymnase, créant un lien fonctionnel entre ancien et nouveau.
La salle multisports prend place à l’ouest du site, orientée est-ouest pour assurer sa visibilité depuis l’entrée et préserver les circulations piétonnes existantes. Ses volumes se distinguent selon les usages : une grande halle à la hauteur généreuse couverte par une toiture en pente dialoguant avec le gymnase, et des espaces de service regroupés sous une toiture-terrasse.
Ouverte sur un jardin à l’ouest, la salle bénéficie d’une lumière constante grâce à des impostes orientées nord et d’une ventilation naturelle discrètement intégrée en façade sud. De larges auvents prolongent la toiture : ils protègent des apports solaires, renforcent l’identité architecturale et assurent une transition fluide entre les deux entités du complexe.

The project involves the construction of a multisport hall in Ablis, designed to expand the range of covered sports facilities for residents. Located on a 3,500 m² site at the southern entrance of the town, between residential areas and agricultural fields, the new hall complements an existing sports complex.
The outdated and non-compliant changing rooms are demolished to free up space. A new service core—including changing facilities and shared areas—is placed on the footprint of the former structures, aligned with the existing gymnasium, creating a functional link between old and new buildings.
The multisport hall is situated on the west side of the site, oriented east-west to ensure visibility from the entrance while maintaining existing pedestrian paths. Volumes are differentiated according to use: a large hall with generous ceiling height and a sloped roof that dialogues with the gymnasium, and service spaces grouped under a flat roof.
Opening onto a west-facing garden, the hall benefits from constant natural light through north-facing clerestory windows and discreet natural ventilation integrated into the south façade. Large canopies extend the roof, providing solar protection, emphasizing the building’s architectural identity, and ensuring a smooth connection between the two parts of the complex.
