La Ville d’Amiens souhaite offrir à l’association ALCO de nouveaux locaux adaptés à ses activités. Centre d’accueil et d’accompagnement, l’ALCO propose aux habitants des ateliers variés (couture, arts plastiques, théâtre, multimédia…), ainsi que des actions de médiation interculturelle, favorisant les rencontres et la convivialité.
Le futur site, situé au cœur d’un îlot déjà doté d’équipements publics (école, gymnase, city-stade, collège, salle de spectacle), renforcera le maillage du quartier et fera de l’ALCO un lieu de vie essentiel.
Le projet architectural vise à traduire la dimension « multiple » de l’association : un espace ouvert à tous, polyvalent et modulable, tout en affirmant l’identité propre de l’ALCO. Le bâtiment s’organise autour d’un hall d’accueil situé sur le parvis, véritable cœur du projet. Les espaces les plus publics (salle de rencontre, ateliers, centre de ressources) s’y greffent directement, tandis que deux ailes distinctes desservent les activités ouvertes aux habitants et les locaux administratifs. Les circulations sont pensées comme de véritables lieux de vie.
Construit en bois (structure poteau-poutre et ossature périphérique), le bâtiment associe chaleur et sobriété. Son enveloppe, alternant ailettes verticales en bois et bardage en acier ondulé, crée une identité double : naturelle et douce d’un côté, contemporaine et reflétant son environnement de l’autre. Cette dualité exprime la richesse et la diversité qui caractérisent l’ALCO.

The City of Amiens wishes to provide the ALCO association with a new space suited to its activities. As a social center, ALCO offers residents a wide range of workshops (sewing, visual arts, theater, multimedia, etc.), as well as intercultural mediation initiatives that foster encounters and conviviality.
The future site, located at the heart of a block already built with public facilities (school, gymnasium, city stadium, secondary school, performance hall), will strengthen the neighborhood network and establish ALCO as an essential community hub.
The architectural project aims to reflect the “multiple” dimension of the association: a space open to all, versatile and adaptable, while affirming ALCO’s own identity.
The building is organized around a reception hal , the true heart of the project, opening onto an inner pedstrian alley. The most public areas (meeting room, workshops, resource center) connect directly to it, while two distinct wings accommodate activities open to residents and administrative offices. Circulation areas are designed as genuine living spaces.
Built in wood (post-and-beam structure with peripheral framing), the building combines warmth and simplicity. Its envelope, alternating vertical wooden fins and corrugated steel cladding, creates a dual identity: natural and soft on one side, contemporary and reflective of its surroundings on the other. This duality conveys the richness and diversity that characterize ALCO.
