Le projet consiste en la création d’un pôle santé au centre bourg de la commune de Juvigny-les-Vallées.
Le site, de plus petite taille que le futur bâtiment, se situe place de l’église avec au Sud un parking existant (lieu du marché du lundi), au Nord un parc qui sera bientôt réaménagé par la commune afin de l’ouvrir au public. L’espace santé comprendra trois cabinets différents: médecine générale, un cabinet d’infirmerie et un autre cabinet pouvant intégrer une autre profession médicale. Bien que le bâtiment soit un seul et même projet et donc un bâtiment unique, les trois cabinets doivent pouvoir fonctionner de manière complétement indépendante avec chacun une entrée et un accès aux espaces techniques communs (sanitaires médecins, archives, locaux techniques).
L’enjeu du projet consiste à créer un bâtiment accueillant qui abritent tous les cabinets tout en préservant l’existant: comment construire une quantité plus importante que le site en préservant les espaces extérieurs existants ?
Nous avons choisi de développer un scénario qui répond au programme en créant un bâtiment de plain-pied à l’emplacement prévu. Pour réaliser cela, le bâtiment s’étend sur toute la parcelle et vient en débord sur la place de l’église et le parc. Pour garder dans un seul bâtiment tous les cabinets et locaux techniques, nous envisageons de créer un large porche sous la partie existante au Nord qui serait l’accès au parc.
Nous proposons de réaliser une toiture à deux pans qui nous permet de rester dans le langage traditionnel tout en offrant une possibilité d’apport de lumière zénithale au Nord et une organisation interne accueillant avec la lecture de la pente du toit. Puis, cette toiture se prolonge pour former des débords afin de protéger le bâtiment du Soleil du Sud : le prolongement est très largement accentué au Sud-Est du bâtiment pour créer un réel espace abrité sur la place de l’église. La toiture permet donc de se fondre dans le paysage bâti tout en se démarquant pour créer un nouveau dialogue avec l’espace public.

The project involves the creation of a healthcare center in the town center of Juvigny-les-Vallées. The site, smaller than the future building, is located on Place de l’Église, with an existing parking lot to the south (the Monday market site) and a park to the north, which will soon be redeveloped by the municipality to open it to the public.
The healthcare center will house three separate practices: general medicine, a nursing office, and another office that could accommodate an additional medical profession. Although the building is a single project and therefore a single structure, each practice must operate completely independently, with its own entrance and access to shared technical spaces (doctor’s restrooms, archives, technical rooms).
The challenge of the project is to create a welcoming building that accommodates all three practices while preserving the existing outdoor spaces: how can a larger building be constructed without compromising the current open areas?
Our solution is a single-story building occupying the entire plot, slightly extending over Place de l’Église and the park. To keep all the practices and technical spaces within one structure, we propose a wide porch at the northern end, serving as access to the park. A traditional pitched roof will provide natural northern light and an internal layout that follows the roof slope, while its overhangs protect the building from southern sun exposure. The roof extends significantly on the southeast side to create a sheltered area on Place de l’Église. This design allows the building to integrate into the built environment while standing out, establishing a new dialogue with the public space.
